AO announces coronavirus local heroes campaign
Online electricals retailer AO.com has launched a TV advert campaign, reassuring customers that it continues to safely deliver essential electricals around the UK during the coronavirus outbreak.
It’s been nearly two years since “AO let’s go” was last heard on TV.
Created by the pureplay’s production team in less than two weeks, mainly using footage shot by its employees at home, the first 30 second advert will air tonight at 7:15pm on ITV alongside a social media campaign to recognise and reward local heroes.

“With stores still closed and people relying on their electricals more than ever for boxset bingeing, calming cuppas and feasts from the fridge, customers need to know where they can get what they need, when they need it from a name they can trust,” says John Roberts, AO’s Founder and Chief Executive.
“We’ve made huge changes behind the scenes to make sure we’re operating safely and as the UK’s largest online electricals retailer, we’ve worked with manufacturers to make sure there’s plenty available for customers.”
AO is also giving away daily rewards to celebrate the people keeping the nation powering on, from NHS workers to local volunteers to delivery drivers. Customers can nominate their heroes on the retailer’s social media channels using #AOHero and explaining why their nominee deserves to be rewarded and recognised.
The company’s employees will choose a winner every day who’ll receive such electricals as 4K TVs, laptops, coffee machines or appliances. The TV and social media campaign will run throughout May and hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of electricals are set to be given away.
