Aldi UK announces first ever Click and Collect offering

Aldi is piloting its first UK Click and Collect service.

The German discounter is currently running a trial for staff members from a store in the Midlands and plans to extend that to customers in the coming weeks.

Colleagues can choose from a full range of grocery items online, then drive to their local store where they can have their shopping brought to their cars contact free.

If successful, the trial will be extended to customers and at further locations across the country in the near future. It builds on the supermarket testing out a rapid delivery service in the East Midlands, London, Cambridge and Greater Manchester in partnership with Deliveroo.

Giles Hurley, CEO at Aldi UK and Ireland, pictured centre above, says: “We know that more and more people want to access the high quality, affordable food they know they can get at Aldi.”

“This is yet another way we are innovating to make sure we best serve our existing customers and make Aldi’s great products and unbeatable prices available to even more people.”
