Asos announces new £90m warehouse as business booms
Asos is set to open a new £90 million fulfilment warehouse in the face of “ever increasing customer demand”.
The online fashion retailer says the site in Lichfield, Staffordshire, will employ 2,000 people over the next three years as it looks to further develop its offerings and delivery capabilities.
The 437,000 sq ft facility will be operational within 12 months. Plans are in place for a gradual ramp up with testing to meet the capacity required for peak trade in 2023.

Nick Beighton, CEO at Asos, comments: “We’re thrilled to be laying down the foundations for our future growth in Lichfield.”
“This significant investment in infrastructure and large scale job creation is a reflection of the confidence Asos has in its future and the quality of the skills and talent available in this well placed location.”
The pureplay currently operates three warehouses, in Barnsley, Berlin and Atlanta.
In October, Asos announced its results for the year ending 31st August. Over the preceding 12-month period, it delivered a 19% year-on-year growth in revenues to £3.26 billion with profit before tax rising more than 300% to £142.1 million.
