Wendy’s and REEF pick London for first UK delivery kitchens

Wendy’s and REEF have announced the opening of the first Wendy’s delivery kitchens in the United Kingdom.

The opening closely follows their announcement of plans to open and operate approximately 700 delivery kitchens over the next five years across the US, Canada and the UK

This builds upon a test of eight facilities in Canada beginning in late 2020. Through this commitment, SoftBank backed Reef becomes the first Wendy’s franchisee in the UK.

The first two UK delivery restaurants (aka dark kitchens) can be found in London at Regis Road in Kentish Town (NW5) – and at Blackwall in the Docklands area of east London (E14).

Orders will be delivered via such platforms as Uber Eats, Just Eat and Deliveroo.

“We’re very pleased to confirm the opening of our first two delivery locations in London, delivering on Wendy’s long-term commitment to growing the brand in the UK,” says Abigail Pringle, Wendy’s President, International and Chief Development Officer.

“Our collaboration with REEF aligns perfectly with our growth ambitions for the UK and the ever growing consumer demand for convenient, high quality food experiences. We look forward to providing more access to the Wendy’s brand and serving more customers across London and beyond.”

“This is an important moment for REEF in the UK as we proudly partner with Wendy’s to demonstrate how a restaurant brand can successfully and conveniently scale with REEF's delivery restaurant platform to reach more customers more quickly,” comments Michael Beacham, President of Kitchens at REEF.

“Our first kitchen was launched in the UK in 2016 and we are delighted to support Wendy’s acclaimed return to this country.”
