Krista Nordlund takes on Chief Digital Product Officer role at Marks and Spencer

M&S has bolstered its Digital & Data team with the appointment of Krista Nordlund as Chief Digital Product Officer.

The newly created role will see Nordlund driving further improvements to the retailer’s customer experience for all digital touchpoints across the business, including the M&S app and M&S.com.

Nordlund is currently Chief Product Officer at US digital rental marketplace RentPath. She will take on her new role in January and report into Chief Digital & Data Officer Jeremy Pee.

Pee comments: "Krista will play a huge part in helping us build our digital capabilities as we shape the future of M&S."

2021 RTIH Innovation Awards

M&S was shortlisted in the Most Innovative UK Retailer category at the 2021 RTIH Innovation Awards, alongside Asda, Currys, Sainsbury’s, Ted Baker and Tesco.

It was recognised for a variety of tech deployments and initiatives this year, including teaming with Go Instore and Appointedd to launch M&S Video Expert.

This is a live video offering designed to recreate in-store beauty and furniture services for online customers. It is operated by colleagues at M&S White City in London.

M&S also announced the roll-out of its checkout-free shopping technology Mobile Pay Go to all UK [owned] stores.

Now into their third year, the RTIH Innovation Awards are sponsored by PMC, StoreSpace, Critizr, Marxent, QVALON and Selazar.

We received a record number of entries this year across 14 categories.

The winners, including Asda in the Most Innovative UK Retailer category, were revealed on 8th December at an exclusive roundtable discussion/networking event in central London.
