Retail Technology Show announces milestone as it preps April 2022 debut

Nineteen Group reports that over 100 exhibitors have signed up with its Retail Technology Show offering, following the event’s launch earlier this year.

This will take place at Olympia London on 26th-27th April 2022.

It will aim to “help businesses thrive in the highly disruptive retail sector” and will include a conference agenda.

Nineteen Group’s Matt Bradley, who was previously Director of RetailEXPO, said when the show launched: “I’m absolutely thrilled to be bringing Retail Technology Show back to the industry.”

“As retailers begin their recovery from a year of disruption, the show will be the platform for connections between suppliers and buyers with a conference programme to give retailers a clear roadmap for a successful future.”

Peter Jones, CEO at Nineteen Group, added: “We are extremely excited to welcome Matt and his original show team to the Nineteen family as we continue to grow and enter new markets.”

“It is also a delight to re-join forces with Nick Field (who headed up RBTE, before it was rebranded as RetailEXPO) who we worked with nearly two decades ago launching shows in Europe and Asia.”

RetailEXPO

Last year, Reed Exhibitions announced that the London-based RetailEXPO exhibition/conference would not take place in 2021 as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The company had also pulled the 2020 event.

In a tweet, Bradley described the move as “without doubt one of my saddest days”.

In an online statement, Reed Exhibitions said: “Both the UK live events and retail industries are in uncertain positions and whilst we are confident that they will return in due course, a combination of these factors have lead us to this decision.”

“We have made this announcement at an early stage to give clarity to all of our partners as they continue to navigate this global pandemic.”

“RetailEXPO is one of our valued brands and we will continue to stay close to and monitor the industry as the situation becomes clearer over the coming months. Thank you to everyone for all your support.”

Reed Exhibitions did not respond to our request for comment on the possibility of a 2022 return.
