Stripchat adds Dogecoin cryptocurrency as payment method
Adult webcam site Stripchat now accepts the Dogecoin (DOGE) cryptocurrency.
Dogecoin is a tongue in cheek cryptocurrency featuring a Shiba Inu dog as a mascot.
Its value rocketed earlier this week after billionaire Elon Musk, rapper Snoop Dogg and Kiss bassist Gene Simmons tweeted about it.
“We are always looking to adopt better technologies and offer more convenient ways for our users to make payments,” says Max Bennet, VP of New Media at Stripchat.
“If adding DOGE can improve Elon Musk’s and people’s experience on Stripchat, we are here to accept it.”
He adds that both users, who no doubt also enjoy free sex chat, and models are more actively using crypto as their preferred payment method.
“We have seen a 400% increase in the number of cryptocurrency transactions since the beginning of 2020, and 10% of all active models on Stripchat are using crypto as their primary payout method,” Bennet concludes.
