Marks and Spencer preps Sparks Live Easter event

M&S is set to host a free Easter event for members of its Sparks loyalty scheme.

This will take place on 31st March at 6pm.

In an email to customers, the retailers says: “Join Andi Peters, resident M&S Food expert April Preston and special guest, author and home stylist Kate Watson-Smyth (aka @mad_about_the_house) for an evening of home-styling tips, table-decorating ideas and Easter egg eating.”

It adds: “M&S chef Chris Baber will be back with three incredible hot cross bun hacks – think hot cross bun churros and vegan ice-cream sandwiches!”

“And, as if that wasn’t egg-citing enough, one lucky attendee will win a £250 Sparks e-card on the night. Plus you’ll be in with a chance to win one of 10 signed copies of Kate’s new book, Mad About the House!”

Never the Same Again

Last year, M&S wrote to its seven million Sparks members to let them know the loyalty scheme was going ‘digital first’.

Last week, meanwhile, it announced the first batch of third-party fashion brands that will be sold through its website as part of the Never the Same Again programme.

It also said its Marble Arch store (one of its largest locations in London) would be redeveloped, with the upper floors converted to office space.

The retailer’s bricks and mortar popularity has fallen sharply in recent years, with critics accusing its stores of being drab and outdated, while the coronavirus pandemic has seen many customers move online.
