Yandex Rover robots are now delivering from Moscow supermarkets
Yandex is now providing Yandex Rover autonomous delivery services from Moscow supermarkets.
The robots previously only operated from its own Yandex.Lavka dark stores, along with food deliveries from more than 20 cafes and restaurants around the Russian city.
Yandex Rovers have started making deliveries from Azbuka Vkusa and VkusVill stores in the central Moscow district of Khamovniki, and the plan is to extend this to other grocery chains and locations.
Yandex.Rovers have completed over 1,500 deliveries to customers, since regular delivery service was launched at the end of 2020. These deliveries were made autonomously and irrespective of weather conditions that vary widely in Russia. https://t.co/9O2zbSzFw0 pic.twitter.com/8T9CFafr5C

Customers can choose the robot delivery option on either the Yandex.Eats or Yandex Go apps. Once an order is placed, supermarket staff pick the items and load them onto the Rover, which heads to the customer’s address.
Upon its arrival, the customer will receive a notification, and an 'unlock' button will appear on the app. Rovers are capable of carrying up to 20kg of goods.
In addition to further Moscow expansion, plans are also in place to pilot deliveries in Ann Arbor, Michigan in the US and in Seoul, South Korea.
