Dunnes Stores notches up mobile first with app launch
Irish retailer Dunnes Stores has launched its first ever app.
“Aesthetically it looks great and we never forgot useful apps have to solve a problem for the user, not for the company who creates them,” Helene Graham, CIO at Dunnes Stores, said in a LinkedIn post.
She added: “It's a really important first step and, to me, the two most important features in this first generation are that it holds your value club card and puts your "10 off 50" vouchers directly into the wallet on the app so you no longer have to feel disappointed for having forgotten them - it also tells you which to use first.”
“This app is the result of great teamwork across Dunnes Stores and our partners. Delighted with the result for everyone involved. Hard work pays off.”
Dunnes Stores primarily sells food, clothes and household wares.
In addition to its main customer base in Ireland, the retailer also has operations in Spain, and formerly in England and Scotland.
