JD Sports teams with Maintel for store communications infrastructure overhaul

JD Sports has worked with Maintel to modernise the telephony network across its European stores.

The retailer needed to upgrade its unified communications infrastructure due to an ageing IT set up and an expanding international store network.

The new offering taps JD Sports’ VPN cloud connectivity to enable colleagues to communicate via video, audio, and web conferencing links, and Maintel’s Unified Communications as a Service solution, ICON Communicate.

JD Sports is now looking to use Maintel to upgrade to an SD-WAN network, enabling the IT department to control everything centrally.

SD-WAN will let the retailer take advantage of the latest 5G technology. It will also help it to improve its omnichannel offering and personalise in-store solutions.
