Customer data veteran Ed Child departs Studio Retail for Costa Coffee
Ed Child has joined Costa Coffee as Global Head Consumer Data & Digital Analytics.
Child previously worked at Studio Retail as Head of Enterprise Data Products & Insight.
His CV also includes stints as Head of Customer Data & Data Science at Asda and Director - Global Customer Insight & Analytics at Walmart.
“Well, to say that I've been excited this week is a bit of an understatement, after starting a new role at Costa Coffee,” he said in a LinkedIn post.
“Costa is a brand I've admired for a long time and to now play a key role in leading and building our consumer data capability globally is just awesome.”
He concluded: “Finished my first week and the team have been super welcoming. Huge amounts of ambition, great products and amazing backing to put data at heart of the business. BRING. IT. ON.”
Robots on the rise
Costa Coffee recently teamed with US startup Starship Technologies to launch robot coffee delivery in Milton Keynes.
“Excited to see how many customers adapt to these great autonomous delivery vehicles,” said Jamie Awdry, Head of Propositions at Costa Coffee.
“A big thank you to Mark Strange (Proposition Implementation Manager at Costa Coffee) and Sandra Sooläte at Starship for making this happen.”
