Major online retailers onboard with Afterpay BNPL service

Afterpay’s buy now, pay later service is now available at Amazon, CVS, Dell, Kroger, Macy’s, Nike, Nordstrom, Nordstrom Rack, Sephora, Target, Victoria’s Secret, Walgreens and Yeti for US shoppers using its payment app.

It says that these merchants represent almost half of all US e-commerce volume.

Select customers can shop at merchants by choosing a brand in the Afterpay Shop Directory and paying with Afterpay.

The latter uses a one time card to facilitate the purchase. The payment details are automatically populated at checkout.

“Over the past year, we all relied on online shopping for the things we needed during the pandemic,” says Zahir Khoja, General Manager at Afterpay North America.

“But, as we celebrate the physical re-opening of stores, consumers still want the convenience and flexibility of buying with the click of a mouse as part of their new normal.”

“We are thrilled to continue to support our customers by allowing them to shop every day at their favourite brands with Afterpay for things they need and want in their lives.”

Clearpay

Afterpay is known as Clearpay in the UK, where it recently reached two million active customers.

The venture made the announcement as it launched a Pay Better campaign.

According to a press release, this aims to “shine a light on the ways consumers can reclaim control of their financial lives and not just pay later, but pay better”.

It includes a multi-million pound investment in digital, social and out-of-home creative, featuring the likes of billboards, taxi wraps and bus wraps.

The campaign can be seen in more than 17 markets worldwide, including London, Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds, Liverpool, and Nottingham in the UK.
