Morrisons seeks Senior Technology Manager - Data & Reporting

Morrisons is looking to transform the use of data across its business.

As part of this, the fourth largest chain of supermarkets in the UK is currently recruiting for a Senior Technology Manager - Data & Reporting.

A job spec states: “As one of the UK’s largest retailers with significant growth in online channels over the last 12 months, our data volumes are growing exponentially and our technology teams are playing an important role in supporting sustained business growth by providing access to good quality and well organised data through advanced analytical technology.”

“We are therefore looking for an experienced Senior Technology Manager - Data & Reporting to join our senior leadership team. This is a highly influential role in Morrisons, with the opportunity to deliver significant change to all areas of the business.”

It adds: “This role will work closely with both business stakeholders and our technology partners to deliver data and insights into the hands of users to enable better decision making, improve business performance and empower colleagues to achieve our business priorities.”

Responsibilities include working on the retailer’s data and analytics strategy, delivering technology solutions that are reliable and scalable, and decommissioning old, legacy reporting technology through cloud adoption.

Clayton, Dubilier & Rice

Morrisons suitor Clayton, Dubilier & Rice is expected to confirm a formal £5.5 billion takeover approach in the next couple of weeks.

According to a report by The Mail On Sunday, rival investment firms will not trigger active engagement until CD&R reveals its intentions. Lone Star, Apollo, KKR and Amazon are all reportedly interested.

CD&R is being advised by former Tesco boss Sir Terry Leahy who is an old colleague of Morrisons Chief Executive David Potts and Chairman Andy Higginson – also previously Tesco executives.
