Dixons Carphone green lights hybrid working at North Acton HQ

Dixons Carphone is introducing hybrid working at its North Acton, London HQ as it makes plans for a post-Covid world.

“We’ve listened to our colleagues and made a decision: hybrid working will be the future at our North Acton site,” the retailer said in a LinkedIn post.

“Although traditional office working is now possible, we’re giving Team DC the flexibility of working across both a virtual and physical environment.”

It added: “It’s about enabling everyone to perform at their best, regardless of location, in a way that’s productive, effective and supports wellbeing.”

“The key is not to apply a ‘one size fits all’ approach. Flexibility is a mindset, not a policy.”

Rebranding and restructuring programme

Dixons Carphone is an omnichannel retailer of technology products and services, operating through 800+ stores and 16 websites in seven countries.

It made a number of strategic decisions during the coronavirus pandemic, including closing its airport store business Dixons Travel after suffering from a lack of travellers and the end of tax-free tourist shopping.

A rebranding and restructuring programme also includes closing all standalone Carphone Warehouse stores and integrating them into Dixons and Currys PC World locations.

There is also a transition from Currys PC World, Carphone Warehouse, Team Knowhow and Dixons Carphone to one brand, Currys.

This is pitched as “a new brand with a familiar name and a bold new look, committed to making it even easier for everyone to enjoy amazing technology.”

“Becoming one brand means customers can turn to Currys for all their tech needs, interacting with Currys colleagues in-store, online, over the phone and on the doorstep,” an online statement says.

It adds: “Four brands becoming one means over 300 stores will transform, 13,000 colleague uniforms upgraded and over 300 van liveries will change.”

The transition is set for completion by October.
