Retail planners are guided through the planning process, using the intuitive toolsets and model stores to ensure best practice delivers continual improvements. While plans and planograms can easily be verified in-store from any mobile device.

Bricks and Mortar Innovation category

This award will go to a retailer enabling physical spaces to thrive via innovative technology, even as online shopping continues to grow amid the coronavirus outbreak.

We’re looking for examples of reducing friction in the customer journey, offering improved experiences, and blurring the lines between channels.

Last year, Asda beat out the likes of Walmart and JD.com to pick up the gong, impressing our judges with its Stevenage innovation store.

To be in with a chance of joining them in our hall of fame, fill out the entry form at the end of this article. It’s free to enter and deadline for submissions is 5th November.

Changing times

Scott Thompson, Editor and Founder of Retail Technology Innovation Hub, says: “The coronavirus outbreak has shown just how resilient and fast moving the retail industry can be.”

“And that was reflected in the 2020 RTIH Innovation Awards winners list, featuring as it did, agile, innovative tech ventures and retailers who have performed strongly in challenging times.”

He adds: “The pandemic induced shift to digital has forever changed retail. But that doesn’t mean that physical retail is dead. Far from it.”

“Stores still have a vital role to play in terms of connecting with customers one on one. Retailers are therefore investing in various technologies that deliver personalised customer experiences and make shopping as convenient as possible. A good example of the latter being the recently launched Amazon Fresh stores in London.”

“I can’t wait to see this trend and many others reflected in the shortlists for the 2021 RTIH Innovation Awards.”
