Amazon launches hub for affordable shopping options

Amazon is launching Amazon Access, a hub for US customers to explore the e-commerce giant’s affordable shopping programmes, discounts and features.

Amazon has also announced that its discounted Prime membership, which launched in 2017, will now be called Prime Access.

For Amazon Access, customers will find information on options like payment with SNAP EBT, and Amazon Layaway.

As for Prime Access, this gives eligible customers access to a Prime membership for $6.99 per month (it’s normally priced at $14.99 per month).

This option is available for EBT and select government assistance recipients. The aim of the new name is to make more users aware of the offering.

In an online post, the company says: “Amazon launched a grassroots programme to listen and learn from customers in communities across the country. In fact, this customer feedback is central to the design of our products and services.”

“We found that many of our customers are looking for ways to save money and time, now more than ever. We know that online shopping is a big part of how they save, and that’s why we’re introducing Amazon Access, a hub to make shopping easier for all customers.”
