Zapp launches 24/7 caviar delivery service for Valentine’s Day
Rapid grocery delivery startup Zapp is offering a 24/7 Croe Beluga Caviar delivery service to Londoners this Valentine’s Day.
Zapp’s Valentine’s offering also includes Diptyque candles, Charbonnel et Walker Pink Marc de Champagne chocolate truffles, Ruinart champagne, as well as a selection of, erm, fruity items such as edible candy underwear from Ann Summers and sex toys from Lelo (who says romance is dead - Ed)..
“We know that life can get in the way of making plans a reality. That’s why we’ve worked hard to give our customers a wide range of quality and luxurious options to make this Valentine’s Day the best yet,” says Steve O’Hear, VP of Strategy at Zapp.
“From London’s finest caviar to a last minute box of chocolate truffles, Zapp is here to curate the moments that matter, delivered within minutes, 24/7.”
Londoners can download the Zapp app on iOS or Android and head to the Valentine’s Day Gift Shop section.
They can shop a range of Croe Caviar including the Croe Oscietra 30g (£39.99), Croe Beluga Caviar 30g (£89.99) and Croe Beluga Caviar 100g (£279.99). For orders over £30, the standard delivery fee of £1.99 is waived.
The service is available in selected London locations, while stocks last.
Funding round
Zapp recently raised $200 million in a Series B round of funding co-led by Lightspeed, 468 Capital, and BroadLight Capital.
Atomico, Burda and Vorwerk Ventures - all previous backers - also participated, alongside Lewis Hamilton, the Formula One champion (because he drives a fast car, alright?)
UK-based Zapp, which launched in 2020, has now raised $300 million in total.
It is currently live in London, Manchester, Cambridge, Bristol, Amsterdam, Rotterdam and is running a soft launch in Paris.
The fresh funds will go towards building out its infrastructure. Zapp plans to open new dark stores in Canary Wharf and Kentish Town as it expands coverage.
