Big hitters announced for Metaverse Fashion Week event

Tokens.com has announced that Cavalli, Dolce & Gabbana, Elie Saab, Etro, Jacob & Co., and Tommy Hilfiger have joined the official lineup for the first ever Metaverse Fashion Week.

The event will be held on property owned by Tokens.com’s subsidiary, Metaverse Group, and leased to Decentraland as the host.

It will take place from 24th-27th March.

Brands are scheduled to host virtual fashion shows featuring avatar models, runways, pop-up shops, and afterparties. There will also be a range of events, presentations and installations.

“Fashion is a key driver of interest in the metaverse and we are pleased to have such a high calibre of brands participating in the first ever Metaverse Fashion Week,” comments Andrew Kiguel, Tokens.com CEO and Metaverse Group Executive Chairman.

“The event provides brands the opportunity to showcase NFTs and virtual products while expanding their consumer reach to a new demographic.”

Metaverse Fashion Week will be free to attend and does not require specialised VR hardware.

republiqe and MONNIER Frères

Digital fashion house, republiqe, and French accessory retailer, MONNIER Frères are launching a virtual store for Metaverse Fashion Week, located in the Luxury Fashion District.

COACH, Axel Arigato and Ester Manas will have a presence alongside Wandler, EYTYS and Osoi.

republiqe, which has created five of its own bespoke outfits to sit in the store, will also work with the brands to turn their physical accessories into virtual metaverse ready wearables.

“If you’re confused about how a Metaverse Fashion Week might take place, the team at Decentraland are building what is essentially a virtual world, where each virtual store will sit within a specific fashion district,”  says James Gaubert, Founder, republiqe.

“As well as the digital stores, there will also be virtual catwalks, where physical fashion brands can showcase their latest digital collections.”

“Visitors will also have the opportunity  to purchase NFTs and attend e-talks and seminars; it’s expected to be much bigger than Decentraland’s Deadmau5 concert, which attracted more than 40,000 virtual visitors.”
