Croatia’s Studenac announces mobile app and loyalty push

Croatia retailer Studenac has launched a mobile application as it looks to improve customer experience and build loyalty.

This is available in both Croatian and English, for Android and iOS.

Customers scan the app when making purchases, collecting points that can be used for discounts and receiving personalised loyalty rewards.

“As we continue to bring global best practices to the Croatian market, we’re pleased to announce our mobile application and loyalty programme,” says Studenac Marketing Director Nina Mimica.

“We are confident that our customers will welcome this digital experience, and by collecting and processing data in a responsible way, we will be able to offer them benefits that respond to their needs.”

Since being bought by regional private equity fund Enterprise Investors in 2018, Studenac has been growing both organically and via a series of acquisitions, reaching almost 750 locations and becoming Croatia’s largest chain by number of stores with its purchase of Pemo last month.

In addition to the points programme, other features include display of weekly advertisements, a store locator and a culinary corner with video recipes.

The English language version of the app is pitched at foreign visitors who get to know the Studenac brand each year during Croatia’s summer tourist season.

“I am proud of how the entire Studenac team worked together to make our app a success: category management, sales, general procurement, IT, accounting, controlling, human resources, legal services, marketing and the management team,” Mimica says.

“Our slogan is “both small and essential” but to live up to that it takes a big organization, with everyone striving toward the same goal.”

Loyalty points in the app can also be transferred to friends and family members or donated to charitable organisations including the Croatian Red Cross, whose Dignified Life programme supports the elderly.
