The Bok Shop and OffGrid open new concept store in Westquay Southampton
The Bok Shop, a south coast-based homemade fried chicken brand, has joined forces with London sneaker boutique OffGrid to create what is pitched as a completely new retail experience at Westquay in Southampton.
This will host a bespoke limited edition sneaker display, allowing customers to dine while purchasing items from trainer experts. Evenings and weekends will also feature music led events.
The 3,700 sq ft restaurant will be The Bok Shop’s fourth, following openings in Brighton, Eastbourne and Hastings. The brand plans to roll-out 10 new sites in the next two years.
Jamie O'Mara, Co-founder of The Bok Shop, says: “We’re bringing our love of fried chicken together with ultra rare sneakers in a way that hasn’t been done before, and we can’t wait to bring this exciting concept to the people of Southampton.”
“It’s been an exciting journey watching our business grow from a single shop in Brighton to multiple sites across the South Coast, with Southampton representing the natural next step in our expansion.”
Harry Badham, Chief Development and Asset Repositioning Officer, Hammerson, comments: “This collaboration and partnership is a sign of how retail and dining are changing and coming together in new ways to create special places for our customers.”
“The Bok Shop’s innovation and ethical credentials are aligned with our own ambitions.”
