Paris Hilton and various other celebs back metaverse startup Everyrealm
Everyrealm, a developer of metaverse content and infrastructure, has revealed that a host of A-list entertainment talent are now investors in the ten-month-old company, alongside existing backers Andreessen Horowitz and Coinbase.
The venture’s latest investors include The Weeknd, Will Smith, Marc Anthony, Nas, Paris Hilton, Gunna, Baby Keem, Jeffrey Katzenberg, Gene Simmons, Lil Baby, Mario Götze, Hannah Bronfman, Fara Leff, Ebonie Ward, Miye Oni, Belly, Pro Logic, and NAV.
“Having such an accomplished roster of people on our cap table is an honour and a testament to the allure of the metaverse opportunity, one where artists and entertainers can foster direct connections with their communities,” says Janine Yorio, CEO at Everyrealm, which was formerly known as Republic Realm.
Everyrealm announced in February the closing of a $60 million Series A financing round led by Andreessen Horowitz. It said that this valued it in the “hundreds of millions” but declined to reveal an exact number.
Andreessen Horowitz’s Cultural Leadership Fund team facilitated introductions to The Weeknd, Will Smith’s Dreamers VC, Belly, Pro Logic, NAV, Hannah Bronfman, Wassim “SAL” Slaiby and Amir "Cash" Esmailian leading to their investment.
Electric Feel Ventures, the investment firm led by Post Malone’s management team, worked with Lil Baby to lead a music industry investment syndicate.
Everyrealm is best known for its real estate holdings and developments in metaverse platforms including The Sandbox and Decentraland.
Its projects include Fantasy Islands, a luxury master planned community in the Sandbox which sold an associated NFT megayacht for 150 ETH ($650,000); Metajuku, a shopping district in Decentraland; Realm Academy, an online educational campus in the metaverse, which is located in Somnium Space.
