NASCAR and Phoenix Raceway keep the faith with autonomous stores specialist AiFi
AiFi has been selected by Phoenix Raceway to use its autonomous retail technology after a test launch with both AiFi and Amazon Go systems at the 2022 NASCAR Cup Series Championship in November.
The former’s store will now be back for the next NASCAR race in the spring.
This is its second race car presence after revealing a frictionless express shop at the Miami Grand Prix in May in partnership with Verizon 5G.
"As AiFi continues to partner with major venues, we are thrilled to have the opportunity to continue working with NASCAR and Phoenix Raceway to deliver a new and convenient experience for fans," says AiFi's CEO, Steve Carlin.
"Race goers are seeking faster transactions, more convenient concessions, and limited human contact, and our solution provides all of that for sports fans and event goers who don't want to spend a lot of time out of their seats."
"We were impressed with how quickly AiFi was able to get the store up and running," says Julie Giese, President of Phoenix Raceway, NASCAR.
"Our fans excitedly welcomed this new way to shop, and were even more excited to get back to their seats quicker, without missing much of the race. We're excited to continue working with AiFi to see what other experiences we can bring to our fans for future races."
2022 RTIH Innovation Awards
Compass Group and AiFi emerged victorious at the 2022 RTIH Innovation Awards last month, picking up the Payments Innovation gong.
They were recognised for Compass Group UK&I introducing its first ever completely frictionless store.
The store, pitched as a first for not only the UK, but across the whole food services sector in Europe, uses AI powered computer vision technology from AiFi, allowing shoppers to purchase items without having to wait in line or stop to scan or pay.
Our 2022 winners were revealed at a sold out event in central London on Tuesday, 6th December.
RTIH Editor, Scott Thompson, said: “Innovation and technology play a critical role in the success of the retail sector, so it is great to recognise standout examples through our awards.”
“Thanks to all those who entered the 2022 event. We received a record number of submissions and many fantastic examples of the continued resilience and dynamism of the retail space during hugely challenging times.”
“Congratulations to our 2022 retail technology hall of fame entrants.”
