Handmade cosmetics brand Lush returns to Covent Garden, London with new store after ten year absence
Lush will open a new Covent Garden store on Friday, 3rd November, after ten years away from the shopping and entertainment hub in London's West End.
This will initially open as an exclusive festive pop-up store with a retail space of 255 sqm and in spring 2024 an expansion of an additional 176 sqm will follow to include the retailer’s Lush Spa offering.
“We're thrilled to be returning to the historic market and now vibrant retail hub of Covent Garden,” says Ellen Peters, Lush UK&I Property Director.
“In keeping with the market's heritage when flowers, fruits, vegetables, roots and herbs would have been sold, we'll bring our local, handmade, products made from fresh ingredients.”
“Our new store, set in a fantastic listed building with entrances from both Long Acre and Floral Street, will give our customers the unique shopping experience that they want and deserve.”
“We're excited to accommodate our Lush Spa concept within this space and look forward to providing an oasis of calm within central London where our customers can slow down to speed up.”
“Our thanks to Picton, the landlord, who we are grateful to have entered into partnership with, as well as all agents and solicitors involved in the process.”
On the opening day, the first 100 paying customers will receive a free Lush gift and visitors are invited to make their own product between 1pm - 4pm for free The products - that are usually made by hand in the Lush factories in Poole, Dorset - are Groovy Fairy Bath Bomb and Mr Pumpkin Face Mask.
Customers will also be introduced to Lush’s latest tech invention, the Bath Bot.
A first for the brand, this is identical in size and shape to Lush’s bath bomb and features a domed convex speaker for 180 degree sound and full spectrum multidirectional lights that fill a bath and bathroom with a light show. The product is available to pre-order now.
“Covent Garden never misses the opportunity to put on a show. The stage is set, and we cannot wait to welcome all our visitors for their moment in the spotlight,” says Sophie Watson, Lush Covent Garden Shop Manager.
“Join us on 3rd November for the Christmas season as a preview of what is to come in Spring 2024. You can expect memorable and meaningful shopping experiences filled with luxurious product demonstrations and guidance from our incredible team, who are ready to bring some of the theatre to your day.”
