Retail technology influencer Andrew Busby departs Software AG, gears up for RTS 2023 in London
Andrew Busby has left Software AG where he served as Global Retail Lead, joining the company in 2022.
In a LinkedIn post, he said: “To all of you in my network, I'm sure you will be aware of the recent headcount reductions at the likes of Google, Microsoft, Salesforce, AWS to name a few. It seems that the technology space is undergoing something of an evolution right now.”
“You may have noticed that my LinkedIn profile has recently been updated - yes, I was also caught up - my role as Global Retail Lead at Software AG being a casualty. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there and had the pleasure of meeting some great people; I wish them every success.”
He added: “After taking stock, I am now on the look out for my next opportunity within the retail industry. Always a slightly unnerving but nevertheless exciting time in equal measures.”
Busby is Founder of analyst organisation Retail Reflections, and a member of the RTIH Top 100 Retail Technology Influencers List.
He will also be chairing parts of the conference programme at Retail Technology Show 2023, which is set to take place on 26th and 27th April at Olympia London.
Sports presenter and broadcaster, Jake Humphrey, has been confirmed as a headline speaker at the event.
Best known as the anchorman for the Premier League coverage on BT Sport, Humphrey now hosts The High-Performance podcast, which gives listeners insights into the lives of high flying, high achieving individuals, and shares first hand experiences and best practice in driving results in all walks of life.
He will join Busby on the headline stage on day one for a fireside chat, which will explore how retail leaders can ensure their workforce can perform at their highest level, at a time when the role of retail staff is having a greater impact upon delivering enhanced customer experience for shoppers.
Matt Bradley, Event Director at Retail Technology Show, comments: “As the adage goes, people buy from people, and our research shows that frontline retail staff are central to supporting customers’ buying journeys.”
“Representing the face of the retailer to shoppers, retail staff are at the heart of customer service delivery and need to be empowered and engaged to succeed. And that’s just one of the reasons we’re looking forward to welcoming Jake as one of the show’s headliners, sharing his insight and hacks for inspiring teams to deliver performance.”
