CADS launches quiz in bid to help retailers optimise store planning and boost profitability
Retail space planning specialist CADS has created a questionnaire to help retailers optimise their store planning process for profitable results.
This determines the maturity of a retailer’s planning process, helping them identify if they have accurate floor plans, whether their planning processes are integrated and more.
Designed to prompt discussions, retailers can take the quiz to highlight the strengths and weaknesses of their current retail planning process and pinpoint areas of improvement for a more optimised system.

“We know that a sophisticated retail space planning process is crucial for retailers – and it leads to better store performance and profitability,” says Guy Moates, Director at CADS, which works with clients across a variety of sectors, including Shell, Sainsbury’s, Primark, M&S, Apotek Hjartat and Grupo Merza.
“So, backed by our extensive experience, we developed our quiz as a fun way to help retailers discuss and identify ways to prime their process for peak performance.”
By answering 11 questions, retailers are assigned one of four categories from CADS’ retail space planning maturity model. From Level One: ‘Establish’ to Level Four: ‘Optimise’, the latter is the most desirable result.
Once they have discovered this, CADS uses its industry insight to advise on ways to make improvements for an optimised process.
“No matter the result, we believe there is always more to learn. We hope retailers can use the insight from our quiz - and our knowledge and services - to achieve the best results for their store planning process” adds Moates.
Alongside its new quiz, CADS provides a range of services to help retail store planning teams improve their process for better results.
Its StoreSpace software provides retail planners with a virtual environment for category space planning, designed to help improve sales. Also, its team is on hand to help with a wealth of advice and knowledge.
“This quiz is just one of the many services and insights we can provide for retailers looking to optimise their planning process. We’re really pleased with how well it complements our other services – and with the uptake we’ve already seen!” concludes Moates.
