Compass UOL showcases D2E for Retail with AWS tech and a Brazilian case study at NRF 24

Compass UOL, an enterprise digital transformation specialist, will showcase its work using AWS’ Data Driven Everything (D2E) for Retail Program, unveiled with Pague Menos, a Brazilian pharmacy chain, at the NRF 24 big retail trade show running next week 14th-16th January in New York.

D2E from Amazon Web Services (AWS) enhances customer connection and marketing, especially in the era of generative artificial intelligence (AI) which can amplify its impact. Compass has used the platform to develop specialist retail services with AI driven data solutions.

The D2E Retail Program from Compass UOL, which uses AWS’ platform, is intended to help e-commerce retailers, pharmacies, supermarkets, and consumer goods companies maximise their extensive databases to improve customer personalisation and contextual engagement.

The ultimate goal is to increase sales via better data mastery both by how it is ingested to inform inventory, deliveries, pricing and so on, before it is spat out at the customer in a relevant and timely manner via targeted marketing.

The benefits of the D2E for Retail Program are dependent on how it is rolled out at each individual end user by Compass UOL, but could include:

  1. Hyper-personalised recommendations to increase cart size and cross-selling.

  2. Product demand forecasting for inventory optimisation.

  3. Predicting customer churn and lifetime value to better retain and monetise customers.

  4. Anticipating delivery failures to manage costs and keep promises more proactively.

  5. Dynamic pricing systems for revenue growth and customer retention.

Brazilian case study
One instance where D2E has been deployed by Compass UOL is at a Brazilian pharmacy chain. The project at Pague Menos rolled out last year meant developing a recommendation system to enhance customer engagement and sales.

Thanks to Amazon Personalize and Compass UOL’s AI accelerators, the solution at the pharmacy delivered personalised product recommendations that:

  • Spanned over a million users so far,

  • Handled over 40,000 stock keeping unit (SKU) product codes,

  • & Delivered a working system in less than 60 days. The Proof of Concept (PoC) was launched first, before being added to and extended.

“Compass UOL is a true partner who worked closely with us to understand our business needs and develop a solution that met our specific requirements,” said Jonathan Reis, Head of Data at Pague Menos. “We're confident that this partnership will continue to be successful in the future.”

At the NRF 24 retail big show starting next week at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York City, Compass UOL will be hosting exclusive activities and case studies, such as its Brazilian project, at Booth 1407.

The vendor will also showcase its ready-to-deploy data engineering solutions and AI accelerators, customisable to each client’s specific needs and data environment. The company positions itself as a partner in creating enterprise wide digital products, offering tailored solutions that are scalable, cost-effective, and time efficient.

Tiago Splitter, the former NBA star and current Houston Rockets basketball coach, will be on hand at Compass UOL’s NRF 24 booth, for those that want to meet the superstar.

Clients can additionally arrange to visit Amazon Fulfilment Centres in order to see the integration of staff, robotics, and AWS in fast package delivery structures that are data optimised with reach into the customer space via Compass’ solutions.
