Chinese pop culture lifestyle retailer MINISO gets ready to pop up at Meadowhall Centre, Sheffield
MINISO is setting its sights on Meadowhall Centre in Sheffield, with a new pop-up store opening on 15th November.
The 1,240 sq ft space follows physical launches this year including Glasgow Central, Croydon, Kingston, Braehead, Liverpool and, more recently, its 50th UK store, in Milton Keynes.
Saad Usman, Chief Operating Officer at MINISO UK, says: “We’re thrilled to bring the MINISO experience to Meadowhall, the region’s go to shopping and dining destination. It’s the perfect place to share our joyful, design-led products with even more shoppers. The new pop-up is all about discovery and delight, offering visitors a taste of our world of fun, affordable lifestyle treasures.”
Darren Pearce, Centre Director at Meadowhall, says: “It’s brilliant to be welcoming MINISO to the centre in time for the festive season. Their fun collectables and branded products will make perfect Christmas gifts for all the family.”
“As the region’s go to destination for shopping, we’re always looking to bring our visitors something new. The MINISO pop-up is a fantastic addition to our Christmas line-up and we’re sure it will be a big hit with shoppers enjoying everything the centre has to offer while celebrating and spending time with loved ones.”
To celebrate the opening, the first 100 customers who spend £5 or more will receive a goody bag valued at £25. The pop-up will be open for a couple of months. After a few updates to the space, MINISO will be back permanently in early 2026.
2025 RTIH INNOVATION AWARDS
Physical retail was a key focus area at the 2025 RTIH Innovation Awards.
We received a record number of entries and many fantastic examples of the continued resilience and dynamism of the retail space during hugely challenging times.

Our 2025 hall of fame entrants were revealed during a sold out event which took place at The HAC in Central London on 16th October and consisted of a drinks reception, three course meal, and awards ceremony presided over by award winning comedian, actress and writer Tiff Stevenson.
In his welcome speech, Scott Thompson, Founder and Editor, RTIH, said: “This is the awards’ fifth year as a physical event. We started off with just 30 people at the South Place Hotel not far from here, then moved to London Bridge Hotel, then The Barbican, and last year RIBA’s HQ in the West End.”
“But I’m conscious of the fact that, to quote the legend that is Taylor Swift, You’re only as hot as your last hit, baby. So, this year we’ve moved to our biggest venue yet, and also pulled in our largest number of entries to date and broken attendance records.”
He added: “This year’s submissions have without doubt been our best yet. To quote one of the judges: The examples of innovative developments across both traditional and digital retail spaces were truly remarkable.”
Congratulations to our winners, and a big thank you to our sponsors, judging panel, the legend that is Tiff Stevenson, and all those who attended our 2025 gathering.
