YEEP! hits 4,000 parcel lockers milestone as company gears up to roll-out new touchscreen technology

YEEP! reports that it has reached 4,000 parcel locker locations across the UK and is preparing to roll-out its new Generation 3 touchscreen lockers. The company, which operated just over 2,250 locations when Jamie Dickinson was appointed CEO in December last year, is now aiming to reach 5,000 by the end of 2026.

Developed with YEEP!’s hardware partner and shareholder kernTerminal, Generation 3 combines the company’s solar and battery powered technology with a new touchscreen interface designed to significantly improve the experience for both delivery drivers and consumers. All new YEEP! lockers will move to the Generation 3 specification from 2nd November, with a programme to upgrade the existing estate by end of Q1 2027.

Alongside the hardware, a bespoke operating system has been designed around the requirements of an open locker network. The system manages site surveys, installation, scheduling, maintenance and upgrades, with the aim of giving YEEP! greater visibility and control as the network scales.

Dickinson says: “Reaching 4,000 locations is a big milestone for YEEP!, and the launch of Generation 3 gives us another reason to be excited about where the business is heading. We’ve learnt a great deal from operating the network and from our work with kernTerminal, and we’ve used that experience to improve how the locker works for the people who interact with it every day, whether that’s a driver delivering parcels or a consumer collecting or returning one.”

“At the same time, we’ve invested behind the scenes, and we now have the product, people, systems, funding and plan in place to support our growth. Our next milestone is 5,000 lockers, but we are building YEEP! with a much larger network in mind.”

Alan Barrie, Group Board Advisor at YEEP! and kernTerminal, comments: “The first phase of YEEP! established the proposition, built the network and gave us a huge amount of knowledge about the market, the technology and what our carrier customers need.”

“Jamie recognised very quickly what the next stage would require. He has brought real pace and commercial focus to the business, strengthened the team and been very clear about where we need to invest. At the same time, he has kept a close eye on the detail, particularly around the product and the experience we deliver for carriers and their customers. We’ve reached 4,000 lockers, but there’s a lot more to come.”

2026 RTIH Innovation Awards

OOH delivery will be a key focus area at the 2026 RTIH Innovation Awards.

The awards, which celebrate global retail technology innovation in a fast moving omnichannel world, have now closed for entries. Our winners will be revealed at the 2026 RTIH Innovation Awards Ceremony, taking place at The HAC in Central London on Wednesday, 4th November.

Check out our 2025 winners here.

Our 2025 hall of fame entrants were revealed during a sold out event which took place at The HAC on 16th October and consisted of a drinks reception, three course meal, and awards ceremony presided over by award winning comedian, actress and writer Tiff Stevenson.

In his welcome speech, Scott Thompson, Founder and Editor, RTIH, said: “This is the awards’ fifth year as a physical event. We started off with just 30 people at the South Place Hotel not far from here, then moved to London Bridge Hotel, then The Barbican, and last year RIBA’s HQ in the West End.”

“But I’m conscious of the fact that, to quote the legend that is Taylor Swift, You’re only as hot as your last hit, baby. So, this year we’ve moved to our biggest venue yet, and also pulled in our largest number of entries to date and broken attendance records.”

He added: “This year’s submissions have without doubt been our best yet. To quote one of the judges: The examples of innovative developments across both traditional and digital retail spaces were truly remarkable.”

Congratulations to our winners, and a big thank you to our sponsors, judging panel, the legend that is Tiff Stevenson, and all those who attended our 2025 gathering.
