New chapter for Alexandre Meerson as Chief Digital, Data & Technology Officer exits Sephora
Alexandre Meerson has announced his departure from Sephora where he spent four and a half years, most recently serving as Chief Digital, Data & Technology Officer (CDO/CDTO) - Omnichannel Business and Client Experience.
In a LinkedIn post, in which he did not reveal his next move, he said: “It will soon be time for me to open a new chapter - one I am genuinely excited about. After nearly five years at Sephora, and more than 12 years with LVMH Maisons, I find myself looking back with immense gratitude - and a great deal of pride.”
“Driving our digital business and omnichannel operations, leading our data, product and technology teams, has been one of the richest experiences of my career. The scope was rare in breadth, at the crossroads of retail, brand, loyalty, CRM, innovation, and more recently AI transformation, across multiple markets and cultures in EMEA.”
He added: “But what I will remember most is not the scope. It is the journey. Together, we built a remarkable trajectory of success and transformation. In a context where Sephora has become a major driver of growth within the LVMH Group, we helped shape an omnichannel model that is demanding, innovative, deeply customer-centric, and firmly anchored in the power of in-store experience.”
“Over these years, we tripled e-commerce and omnichannel revenue, grew our customer base to historic highs, and built a more mature product and technology model - scaling multiple product teams and moving to agile at scale, with a consolidated portfolio steered by value, focus and measurable business outcomes. We proved that technology, data, product and retail execution can come together not as parallel agendas, but as one integrated engine of growth, desirability and performance.”
“Above all, we built an exceptional team. A team of talented, committed, high-standard people. A team that learned, challenged, supported and elevated one another. A team that delivered with ambition, resilience and heart. Building that team has been one of the greatest of privileges. I am deeply grateful to the teams, partners and leaders with whom I had the chance to build this success.”
Meerson concluded: “Those who know me also know that I have always had an entrepreneurial drive. I have built businesses before, and I have always been drawn to places where product, brand, customer and execution come together in powerful ways.”
“For me, one conviction has only grown stronger: the future of retail is not about choosing between technology and the shop floor. It is about bringing them together - in service of product, brand, customer, and the store as the living heart of the relationship. Over time, you learn to recognise what matters most to you. That is the spirit in which I will open this next chapter. Very soon.”
2026 RTIH Innovation Awards
Omnichannel retail will be a key focus area at the 2026 RTIH Innovation Awards.
The awards are now open for entries and celebrate global retail technology innovation in a fast moving omnichannel world.
Our winners will be revealed at the 2026 RTIH Innovation Awards Ceremony, taking place at The HAC in Central London on Wednesday, 4th November.
Check out our 2025 winners here.
Our 2025 hall of fame entrants were revealed during a sold out event which took place at The HAC on 16th October and consisted of a drinks reception, three course meal, and awards ceremony presided over by award winning comedian, actress and writer Tiff Stevenson.
In his welcome speech, Scott Thompson, Founder and Editor, RTIH, said: “This is the awards’ fifth year as a physical event. We started off with just 30 people at the South Place Hotel not far from here, then moved to London Bridge Hotel, then The Barbican, and last year RIBA’s HQ in the West End.”
“But I’m conscious of the fact that, to quote the legend that is Taylor Swift, You’re only as hot as your last hit, baby. So, this year we’ve moved to our biggest venue yet, and also pulled in our largest number of entries to date and broken attendance records.”
He added: “This year’s submissions have without doubt been our best yet. To quote one of the judges: The examples of innovative developments across both traditional and digital retail spaces were truly remarkable.”
Congratulations to our winners, and a big thank you to our sponsors, judging panel, the legend that is Tiff Stevenson, and all those who attended our 2025 gathering.
