OpenAI GTM specialist Sophie Rose joins AI powered software platform Brij's advisory board

Brij, an AI powered software platform, has added Sophie Rose to its advisory board. Rose works for OpenAI in the go to market part of its business.

In a LinkedIn post, Kait Stephens, CEO and Co-founder at Brij, said: "Two years ago, I tried to hire Sophie as our Chief of Staff. We were deep in the interview process when she called to tell me she'd just gotten an offer from OpenAI. My immediate reaction: "That's a once in a-lifetime opportunity. You obviously have to take it. And she did. She joined as one of OpenAI's earliest GTM hires, moved out to San Francisco, and helped launch ChatGPT Enterprise.”

She added: "We stayed in touch the whole way. Compared notes constantly. Kept finding ourselves drawn to the same intersection of commerce and AI. So when we started building Brij's advisory board, Sophie was one of the first people who came to mind. These days, she partners with the world's leading enterprises on AI adoption and go to market strategy."

"This means she often challenging the prevailing wisdom on how brands should think about data, she's doing it from inside the very shift everyone else is trying to understand. Her actual challenge to our team: "Agentic tools and AI are challenging the foundation of data warehouses…You're doing a disservice by trying to fit in the mold of the past when most businesses today are trying to figure out how to adapt to the present day agent era." That kind of feedback is gold."

Rose commented: "The value of a ChatGPT or a Claude is that it allows a non-data scientist, someone who doesn't know SQL, doesn't know how to query a data warehouse, to all of a sudden interact with data, make decisions on data, parse the data, and quickly take action."

Stephens added: "For Brij, that framing is everything. If our value prop is access to data brands didn't previously have, the win condition isn't building a tool for data scientists. It's building one any operator can pick up and use. She's also helping us with GTM at our scale, and wiring Brij to be AI native from the ground up."

"Before OpenAI, Sophie scaled go to market at early stage startups and started her career on PepsiCo's Corporate Strategy team, so she's lived this from the consumer brand side, the startup side, and now the AI vendor side. Few people sit at that intersection. She's the kind of advisor every founder hopes to land. Somehow, we got her. So glad we get to do this together two years later, just in a different role."

2026 RTIH Innovation Awards

AI will be a key focus area at the 2026 RTIH Innovation Awards.

The awards are now open for entries and celebrate global retail technology innovation in a fast moving omnichannel world.

Our winners will be revealed at the 2026 RTIH Innovation Awards Ceremony, taking place at The HAC in Central London on Wednesday, 4th November.

Check out our 2025 winners here.

Our 2025 hall of fame entrants were revealed during a sold out event which took place at The HAC on 16th October and consisted of a drinks reception, three course meal, and awards ceremony presided over by award winning comedian, actress and writer Tiff Stevenson.

In his welcome speech, Scott Thompson, Founder and Editor, RTIH, said: “This is the awards’ fifth year as a physical event. We started off with just 30 people at the South Place Hotel not far from here, then moved to London Bridge Hotel, then The Barbican, and last year RIBA’s HQ in the West End.”

“But I’m conscious of the fact that, to quote the legend that is Taylor Swift, You’re only as hot as your last hit, baby. So, this year we’ve moved to our biggest venue yet, and also pulled in our largest number of entries to date and broken attendance records.”

He added: “This year’s submissions have without doubt been our best yet. To quote one of the judges: The examples of innovative developments across both traditional and digital retail spaces were truly remarkable.”

Congratulations to our winners, and a big thank you to our sponsors, judging panel, the legend that is Tiff Stevenson, and all those who attended our 2025 gathering.
