Kate Dickson joins AV and digital solutions specialist IUF as Head of Marketing and Communications
IUF, a specialist in connected retail digital signage and media solutions whose customers include HMV and Under Armour, has appointed Kate Dickson as Head of Marketing and Communications. She joins from Scala, where she served as Director, Brand Marketing and Communications.
In a LinkedIn post, Dickson said: “Following a few summer weeks spent with the family, having a massive clear out on Vinted and tentatively beginning to vibe code something which is part diary part game, I've joined IUF as Head of Marketing and Communications. I am massively excited to be joining the IUF team. I have been a great admirer of the work of Josh Bunce, Franco Boydell, Keeva Freeman and the team for many years. I am looking forward to sharing their stories of success and bringing attention to the exemplary work done by this passionate group.”
She aded: “I am also so grateful that I get to work in and learn more about digital display, customer experience and retail media. Since starting part-time at Scala in 2020, I have been enamoured with the role of digital in transforming spaces and creating unforgettable experiences. The retail media layer has added another level of interest for me as I learn more about the ways in which shops and other spaces can offer advertising effectively and with accountability without turning off customers and guests.”
“At IUF I will be able to continue to learn more about the role that digital can play in creating better spaces and memorable moments. I will also be able to continue considering the opportunities presented by retail media and work with the brilliant colleagues and contacts with whom I have had the pleasure of meeting and collaborating over the last few years.”
2026 RTIH Innovation Awards
Retail media will be a key focus area at the 2026 RTIH Innovation Awards.
The awards are now open for entries and celebrate global retail technology innovation in a fast moving omnichannel world.
Our winners will be revealed at the 2026 RTIH Innovation Awards Ceremony, taking place at The HAC in Central London on Wednesday, 4th November.
Check out our 2025 winners here.
Our 2025 hall of fame entrants were revealed during a sold out event which took place at The HAC on 16th October and consisted of a drinks reception, three course meal, and awards ceremony presided over by award winning comedian, actress and writer Tiff Stevenson.
In his welcome speech, Scott Thompson, Founder and Editor, RTIH, said: “This is the awards’ fifth year as a physical event. We started off with just 30 people at the South Place Hotel not far from here, then moved to London Bridge Hotel, then The Barbican, and last year RIBA’s HQ in the West End.”
“But I’m conscious of the fact that, to quote the legend that is Taylor Swift, You’re only as hot as your last hit, baby. So, this year we’ve moved to our biggest venue yet, and also pulled in our largest number of entries to date and broken attendance records.”
He added: “This year’s submissions have without doubt been our best yet. To quote one of the judges: The examples of innovative developments across both traditional and digital retail spaces were truly remarkable.”
Congratulations to our winners, and a big thank you to our sponsors, judging panel, the legend that is Tiff Stevenson, and all those who attended our 2025 gathering.
