Live shopping specialist Tilt lays claim to its biggest launch since securing $26 million funding round
Live shopping app Tilt has launched Clips, a scrollable feed of short, buyable videos, enabling people to shop or sell, without waiting for a stream to go live. In what is pitched as an industry first, anyone can create a listing in under three seconds. AI handles the shoot and write up, so all that's left is a real person showing you a real thing.
Tilt says that this is its biggest launch since its $26 million in fresh funding from the likes of TQ Ventures, Vinted Ventures, Balderton.
"Machines are great at a lot of things. Getting you to buy from a stranger you've never met isn't one of them,” says Neil Shah, Co-founder at Tilt. "Trust is about to become the rarest thing on the internet. As AI floods the world with fakes, that gap only gets wider. Clips is how we close it: you see the item in someone's hands, every detail, and seconds later it's yours.”
"I held up a pair of shoes and it identified them straight away, the description was spot on," says Clips user Viraj Singhal. "It's a tenth of the time it'd take to list on eBay - a lot quicker and a lot more seamless."
Live stays at the centre of Tilt, while Clips gives buyers a way to browse and buy in their own time. Tilt says that Clips follows a simple bet: the next generation won't shop through static listings the way their parents did. They'll discover and buy the way they already watch everything else, through real people, on video, through a feed.
According to a press release: “TikTok did it for entertainment, YouTube did it for television, Instagram did it for photos: each turned a passive format into something anyone could make and everyone could scroll. Shopping is next. And just as those platforms turned viewers into creators, Clips turns shoppers into sellers.”
2026 RTIH Innovation Awards
Live shopping will be a key focus area at the 2026 RTIH Innovation Awards.
The awards are now open for entries and celebrate global retail technology innovation in a fast moving omnichannel world.
Our winners will be revealed at the 2026 RTIH Innovation Awards Ceremony, taking place at The HAC in Central London on Wednesday, 4th November.
Check out our 2025 winners here.
Our 2025 hall of fame entrants were revealed during a sold out event which took place at The HAC on 16th October and consisted of a drinks reception, three course meal, and awards ceremony presided over by award winning comedian, actress and writer Tiff Stevenson.
In his welcome speech, Scott Thompson, Founder and Editor, RTIH, said: “This is the awards’ fifth year as a physical event. We started off with just 30 people at the South Place Hotel not far from here, then moved to London Bridge Hotel, then The Barbican, and last year RIBA’s HQ in the West End.”
“But I’m conscious of the fact that, to quote the legend that is Taylor Swift, You’re only as hot as your last hit, baby. So, this year we’ve moved to our biggest venue yet, and also pulled in our largest number of entries to date and broken attendance records.”
He added: “This year’s submissions have without doubt been our best yet. To quote one of the judges: The examples of innovative developments across both traditional and digital retail spaces were truly remarkable.”
Congratulations to our winners, and a big thank you to our sponsors, judging panel, the legend that is Tiff Stevenson, and all those who attended our 2025 gathering.
