eBay expands UK trading card category offering with the launch of e-commerce giant’s new price guide
In a move pitched as an industry first, eBay has announced the expansion of its new trading card price guide to the UK. Trading cards continue to be a major growth area for eBay, with collectables remaining the largest contributor to the company’s global GMV growth in Q2 2026. Values can vary by condition, grade and demand, so access to up-to-date pricing and market data can help collectors and enthusiasts make more informed decisions when buying and selling.
With the latest version of the eBay app, collectors can access the new price guide and scan cards from popular trading card games including Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, One Piece and Disney Lorcana to instantly view recent eBay sales data and help track the value of their collections. Price guide insights will also be available across the eBay app and desktop as the experience rolls out, including directly from trading card listings by selecting ‘See insights’.
Supporting both raw and selected graded trading card singles, the price guide draws on up to two years of completed transactions on eBay.co.uk. The launch comes during a significant year for the trading card community, including Pokémon celebrating its 30th anniversary, MCM Comic Con drawing thousands of fans, and a packed calendar of new product releases.
Adam Ireland, Vice President and General Manager, Global Collectables at eBay comments: “We’re continuing to invest in our trading card business and support our dedicated community of buyers and sellers with innovations that streamline the shopping experience. Earlier this year, we launched Authenticity Guarantee for trading cards in the UK. Now, we’re putting even more information in collector’s hands with eBay’s price guide, making it easier than ever for seasoned collectors and new enthusiasts to participate in the fast-paced trading card hobby."
2026 RTIH Innovation Awards
Online retail will be a key focus area at the 2026 RTIH Innovation Awards.
The awards are now open for entries and celebrate global retail technology innovation in a fast moving omnichannel world.
Our winners will be revealed at the 2026 RTIH Innovation Awards Ceremony, taking place at The HAC in Central London on Wednesday, 4th November.
Check out our 2025 winners here.
Our 2025 hall of fame entrants were revealed during a sold out event which took place at The HAC on 16th October and consisted of a drinks reception, three course meal, and awards ceremony presided over by award winning comedian, actress and writer Tiff Stevenson.
In his welcome speech, Scott Thompson, Founder and Editor, RTIH, said: “This is the awards’ fifth year as a physical event. We started off with just 30 people at the South Place Hotel not far from here, then moved to London Bridge Hotel, then The Barbican, and last year RIBA’s HQ in the West End.”
“But I’m conscious of the fact that, to quote the legend that is Taylor Swift, You’re only as hot as your last hit, baby. So, this year we’ve moved to our biggest venue yet, and also pulled in our largest number of entries to date and broken attendance records.”
He added: “This year’s submissions have without doubt been our best yet. To quote one of the judges: The examples of innovative developments across both traditional and digital retail spaces were truly remarkable.”
Congratulations to our winners, and a big thank you to our sponsors, judging panel, the legend that is Tiff Stevenson, and all those who attended our 2025 gathering.
