Vue’s website crashed over the weekend as rain and gale-force winds resulted in thousands of Brits attempting to book film tickets.
A message on the website read: “It's a lot busier than usual at the moment, so to help with the waiting we've placed you in a queue."
Customers complained on social media about queues of up to 20 minutes on Sunday, while others spent 45 minutes waiting on the phone. When one customer took to Twitter to ask what had gone wrong, Vue responded: “Would you believe us if we told you it was the weather? Sorry about this! We're experiencing a high volume of traffic.”
