Six retailers/brands that are so innovative right now

These retailers and brands are leading the way in providing technology and experiences that are one step ahead of their customers’ expectations.

1. Ikea Iceland

Ikea Iceland has taken part in a commercial transaction on the Ethereum blockchain, using smart contracts and licensed e-money to settle an e-invoice with local retailer Nordic Store.

2. Walmart

Walmart has tapped blockchain technology to track its Indian-sourced shrimp to select Sam's Club retail stores in the US. The pilot project is the first known use of blockchain for shrimp exports from an Indian farmer to an overseas retailer.

3. CU

CHAI is launching mobile blockchain-based payments at 13,500 CU convenience stores in South Korea.

4. Whole Foods

Whole Foods Market has partnered with Briggo to install a robotic barista that will provide in-store coffee service at its new Houston-Midtown location.

5. adidas

adidas has announced the 10 startups taking part in its Platform A accelerator programme, which officially launched earlier this year.

6. Three Mobile

Three Mobile has launched Three Store Now in partnership with HERO.

In 75 Three stores across the UK, advisors are using the latter’s app to connect with nearby customers on three.co.uk via chat, video and livestreaming.
