Farmstead announces Food Runners team up

US online retailer, Farmstead, has partnered with Food Runners to provide groceries to Bay Area non-profits.

“We are thrilled to work with Food Runners as its mission to reduce food waste and alleviate hunger completely aligns with Farmstead’s commitment to slash food waste in this country and make fresh, local food accessible to everyone,” says Pradeep Elankumaran, CEO and Co-founder of Farmstead.  “Food Runners has done an excellent job creating an efficient network that distributes excess food to Bay Area organisations, who in turn get it into the hands of people who need it. We are proud to be working with them.”

“Farmstead is an important new partner of ours, helping us get healthy, locally- sourced food to people in need,” comments Nancy Hahn, Operations Manager of Food Runners.  “As a startup, to offer fresh food for daily donations to local residents says a lot about Farmstead as a company looking to give back and create a tight-knit food community, and we are deeply appreciative of their donations.”
