JD.com and Michelin China expand partnership

Michelin is launching a first party flagship store on the JD.com platform.

The partnership means that both Michelin and JD.com, who have been working together since 2016, will integrate their offline auto service networks and customers who buy Michelin tires through JD.com will be given priority to choose high-end service networks such as TYREPLUS.

“JD.com understands that car owners require a seamless integration of online purchasing and offline installation when they are choosing new tires,” says Roc Liu, Vice President of Michelin China Investment Co. “With this e-commerce giant as our partner, we’re confident that this partnership will improve the entire tire purchasing experience.”

“The Michelin brand has established a global reputation for producing high quality tires which we know will be embraced by JD.com users,” comments Lijun Xin, President at JD Life and Services. “With the backing of our premium e-commerce platform and capabilities in boundaryless retail, including our offline auto parts franchise, the expansion of this partnership will help consumers across China better connect with this outstanding tire brand, and significantly improve the process of buying and installing tires.”
