Five retailers that are so innovative right now

These retailers are leading the way in providing technology that is one step ahead of their customers’ expectations.

1. The Co-op

The Co-op has launched its robot delivery service in a third store.

Bodmin Place, Broughton joins Monkston Park and Emerson Valley in Milton Keynes in offering this. Customers can now have their groceries delivered by a Starship Technologies robot.

2. Kroger

Kroger has announced plans for a new Ocado-powered customer fulfilment centre (CFC) in Forest Park, Georgia, USA. A $55 million investment that will create more than 400 new jobs, this is set to be operational in 2021.

3. HEMA

HEMA has selected JDA Software’s JDA Luminate Demand Edge and JDA Fulfllment solutions, fuelled by Blue Yonder’s artificial intelligence and machine learning capabilities, for a supply chain transformation project.

4. Carrefour

Carrefour and Glovo have announced a 30-minute delivery partnership in Argentina, Spain, Italy and France, with exclusive rights in the latter country. 

5. Bulletin

Bulletin has raised $7 million in a Series A round led by Foundation Capital.

The US apparel venture, which launched in 2015, has opened three physical stores in New York. It is now building out a platform which taps data science and insights to help retailers find the right brands for their stores. This is currently in beta with the likes of Drake’s General Store and Concrete and Water and is set to publicly launch later this summer.
