Amazon, Aldi and M&S win hearts of UK shoppers
Amazon, Aldi and M&S Simply Food are the most loved retailers in the UK, according to a study of 96,000 consumers from Savanta.
Amazon nabbed first place for offering “the ultimate convenience, which is undoubtedly the main factor which has re-shaped retail in recent years and allowed for such strong customer commitment”.
“Platform-based retail models like Amazon and eBay are estimated to continue to dominate the retail industry and the blurring of digital and physical is expected to increase as Amazon itself aims to open 3,000 Amazon Go stores globally by 2021,” Savanta observes.
Also making the top ten were Apple, Ikea, eBay, Tesco, M&S, Boots and Asda. Caroline Hawkings, SVP at Savanta, comments: “Whilst these are undoubtedly turbulent times for the retail industry, our research highlights the opportunities there are for brands to survive and thrive.”
“Retailers need to establish deeper, more emotive brand connections with customers, which ensure standout and differentiation. The brands most adept at fully embracing true customer affinity - or love - will prosper.”
