Gary Brown departs Debenhams for SIG
Gary Brown is leaving Debenhams, after spending over 13 years at the retailer.
He started off as Finance Analyst and was most recently Head of Finance - E-commerce, Supply Chain and Technology. Prior to Debenhams, Brown was a finance analyst at Musgrave. He will now take on a role at SIG.
In a LinkedIn post, he said: “Thanks to all those I've worked for, worked with and worked for me. It's been a blast!”
Store closures
Debenhams is in the midst of a rescue plan which includes store closures and job losses. The retailer intends to shutter 50 of its worst performing stores.
It was taken over by a group of financial investors last year and is using a CVA to cull unprofitable sites and cut the rent on many of its remaining 163 stores.
