Amazon Dash Carts will let you skip the checkout line
Amazon has developed a smart shopping cart that lets customers check-out without a cashier.
The Dash Cart is coming to Amazon’s Woodland Hills, California grocery store in 2020.
It uses a combination of computer vision algorithms and sensor fusion to identify items you put in the cart. When you exit through the store’s Dash Cart lane, sensors automatically identify the cart, and your payment is processed using the credit card on your Amazon account.
Think an Amazon Go store on wheels.
“Just one more example of how Amazon, the retailer with the least amount of grocery retail experience, is more innovative than its largest competitors,” says supply chain consultant Brittain Ladd.
