McDonald’s UK and Ireland trials delivery to parked cars

McDonald’s UK and Ireland is testing out a Click. Park. Collect service in 24 restaurants.

Customers can get food and drinks delivered to their parked cars via the My McDonald's app.

The fast food giant has also added Apple Pay into the mix, “to provide even greater convenience for those seeking contact-free ways to order and pay through the app”.

As the company has increased services and menu items during the coronavirus outbreak, it has recently changed some of its procedures and enhanced safety measures.

These include Installing portable screens in dining areas to provide additional protection for those choosing to dine-in and positioning additional protective screens near self-order kiosks to create “ordering booths”.

“We're continually reviewing the solutions we've introduced to ensure they remain practical and enable our teams to work and customers to visit safely,” says Paul Pomroy, CEO, McDonald's UK and Ireland.

“I know in some cases customers have had to wait a little longer and things have been different. But I'm sure they’ll agree that it is everyone's responsibility to keep one another safe, and to play our part we will continue to update our procedures in line with the latest government and public health authority guidance.”
