Amazon steps up Rivian electric delivery vans trial
Amazon’s electric Rivian vans will start making deliveries in 16 US cities this year.
These are already delivering to customers in Los Angeles.
Amazon plans to expand its testing to 15 more (unnamed) cities this year, as it eyes a fleet of 10,000 vehicles by 2022.
“We’re loving the enthusiasm from customers so far, from the photos we see online to the car fans who stop our drivers for a first hand look at the vehicle,” says Ross Rachey, Director of Amazon’s Global Fleet and Products.
“From what we’ve seen, this is one of the fastest modern commercial electrification programmes, and we’re incredibly proud of that.”
