Argos reacts to Boris Johnson John Lewis furniture nightmare gaffe
Here in the UK, Prime Minister Boris Johnson is attempting to play down allegations that he isn’t a fan of John Lewis furniture.
In case you missed it, it has been alleged that Johnson accepted a loan from Conservative Party HQ to renovate his Downing Street flat, without properly declaring it as a gift.
Shadow health secretary Jonathan Ashworth has demanded a "full and frank" explanation.
The Labour MP told the BBC: "We really need to know who's given the loan, who's given the money, because we need to know who the PM is beholden to.”
"To be honest he lied yesterday - that's not good enough."
All very juicy, but it’s another part of the story that has many Brits frothing at the mouth.
Tatler has reported that Johnson and his other half Carrie Symonds were transforming the aforementioned gaff from “Former PM Theresa May’s John Lewis furniture nightmare into a high society haven”.
John Lewis furniture nightmare? How very dare you!
Cue a barrage of people venting spleen on social media.
And Argos has also weighed into the debate with this zinger.
Argos, we salute you!
And John Lewis, hold your head up high. If Boris Johnson doesn’t like you, then you must be doing something right.
