Sharon Prior takes on CIO role at Card Factory
Sharon Prior has been appointed as Interim Chief Information Officer at Card Factory, a UK-based omnichannel retailer of greeting cards and gifts.
Prior’s CV includes founding IT consultancy, Inovivo.
She has also worked for the Post Office, joining in 2015 as Head of IT Strategic Business Partners, before becoming IT Director and then Digital Channel Director.
“Card Factory is a successful high street specialist, and is undertaking an ambitious growth strategy,” she says.
“The opportunity to become part of their journey is a compelling one, and I very much look forward to working with their incredibly talented team.”
Another recent CIO appointment
J.C. Penney has appointed two technology executives to its C-suite as it looks to boost its e-commerce and omnichannel offerings.
Sharmeelee Bala has been named CIO.
She joins from Gap, where she held leadership positions since 2018 and most recently served as the Head of Product Engineering.
Bala also spent 20 years with Walmart in a number of technology and executive roles.
Katie Mullen, meanwhile, becomes JCPenney’s Chief Digital and Transformation Officer (CDO).
Mullen will lead the growth of the e-commerce business, including jcp.com.
She will also be responsible for driving enterprise strategy and the company’s transformation agenda.
She most recently spent nearly three years with Neiman Marcus Group, serving as Chief Transformation Officer and then Chief Digital Officer. Previously, she was a Partner and Managing Director at Boston Consulting Group.
