Retail technology and FinTech collide as Gorillas and Revolut team up
German rapid grocery delivery startup Gorillas has announced a partnership with FinTech giant Revolut.
In a LinkedIn post, the former said: “What do we have in common with the world’s first truly global financial super app? We both get you what you need fast, so you can focus on things you really love.”
“Revolut helps you get more from your money by putting all things finance in one, easy to use app. That means no more wasted hours standing at the bank, or at the grocery store.”
It added: “Look out for a banner in your Gorillas app to sign up for Revolut and get three months free on a Revolut Premium plan and some cashback.”
The latter’s customers, meanwhile, can head over to Revolut Rewards and sign up for Gorillas and get up to 20% cashback on their first four orders when they pay with Revolut.
There’s also more to come from the tie up, although the aforementioned LinkedIn post did not provide further details.
Jumbo Supermarkten
Last month, Dutch supermarket chain Jumbo Supermarkten announced a partnership with Gorillas.
This will cover the Netherlands and the Flanders region of Belgium. Jumbo will supply a large part of its range to Gorillas, including private label products and some from the La Place brand.
Gorillas also works with Tesco in the UK, and Casino Group in France.
“We will join forces to build better and faster customer journeys for our inner city customers,” said Björn Brekel, Manager Digital at Jumbo Supermarkten.
“It’s been a privilege to have shaped the collaboration over the past months together with the Jumbo and Gorillas teams. Thank you to all involved in the journey so far. Let’s win together!”
