buymie bags €7 million in funding for grocery delivery platform

Same-day grocery delivery firm, buymie, has completed a €7 million funding round.

With total funding to date now standing at €18.2 million, this latest investment was led by the company’s largest backers including Grosvenor Food & AgTech,  Act Venture Capital, Sure Valley Ventures, Haatch Ventures, and HBAN.

Other notable investors in the round include Keith Weed, former Chief Marketing and Communications Officer at Unilever and Eamonn Quinn, former Deputy Chairman at the Superquinn Group and Chairman of buymie

Devan Hughes, CEO and Co-Founder, buymie, says:  “This latest round of funding follows the successful launch of our newest retail partnership with Asda across multiple cities in the UK.”

Founded in 2016, buymie has expanded to a team of 70+ with a network of over 400 personal shoppers.

Customers are able to note specific preferences on their orders and can opt in for a call from their shopper in-store if items are out of stock. buymie can deliver on the same day and can fulfil orders in as little as one hour.

Its service is available to over two million households across Dublin, Limerick, Cork and Galway and Leeds and Bristol in the UK.

The aforementioned funding will enable the venture to continue market expansion both in Ireland and in the UK, with over 200 other cities currently being considered.
