Bartek Małecki takes on Head of Development role at AiFi
Autonomous stores firm AiFi has appointed Bartek Małecki as Head of Development.
He joins from private equity player MidEuropa where he served as Principal.
In a LinkedIn post, Małecki said: “After seven years in PE I have decided to leave MidEuropa. It’s been an extraordinary journey which I'm grateful for.”
“Four deals, a few hundred million Euros of equity deployed across consumer and consumer tech businesses, dozens of DDs, hundreds of meetings and companies reviewed and a regional consumer tech practice built from scratch.”
“Many thanks to my colleagues and business partners who made me part of this story.”
He added: “I’m excited to join (AiFi co-founders) Ying Zheng, Steve Gu and the AiFi team to embark on their vision to revolutionise retail with autonomous stores technology. Stay tuned and watch this space - we are expanding quickly.”
Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix
AiFi recently enabled autonomous shopping for racing fans at the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix.
The event took place from 6th-8th May at the Miami International Autodrome in Miami Gardens, Florida, United States.
It was the first edition of the Miami Grand Prix and the fifth round of the 2022 Formula One World Championship.
The Hard Rock Stadium Express Shop, powered by AiFi’s autonomous store platform running on 5G and mobile edge compute, allowed event attendees to avoid long lines and grab snacks and beverages, and go.
They tapped their credit card upon entering, then shopped, exited and they received a receipt via text in minutes.
