Global IT Director Chris Norman departs Dyson for new opportunity
Chris Norman has left Dyson where he served as Global IT Director - Digital Business Technology.
In a LinkedIn post, dated 15th August, he said: “After nearly 12 years I have decided to take some time out search for my next role outside of Dyson and today is my first day of garden leave.”
He added: “It’s been quite a journey since joining in 2010 and I have had the privilege of building and leading an amazing team.”
Norman flagged up such achievements as “world class operations covering a 24/7 global retail business in 82 countries, significant portfolios of investment in agile product management and successful programmes including new capabilities in e-commerce, marketplaces, retail, CRM, direct marketing, procurement, HR, an S4 Hanna transformation (during lockdown), supply chain and RDD.”
These occurred at the same time as delivering new subsidiaries (including India, Turkey, Mexico, Poland and Hong Kong), new warehouses, new contract manufacturers, new retail stores and new product launches.
Norman continued: “In the time I have been at Dyson, all this has underpinned the growth of the company from £600 million revenue to £6 billion and a D2C business virtually from scratch to a significant proportion of that revenue. Oh, and let’s not forget a portfolio in automotive for a couple of years.”
Norman concluded: “Although I have taken the difficult decision to pursue my next opportunity outside of Dyson, I wish the organisation and particularly my team all the best and hope we have the opportunity of working together again.”
“The search starts here for an exciting business looking for significant digital transformation and exponential growth, watch this space…”
